Despite a recent refit the pub looks tired. We were a party of five for a 92yo birthday lunch. We asked for a quiet table out of drafts and were seated in a circulation area with every meal served that lunchtime being brought past our table. The food was adequate though unexceptional.
When we asked for a menu we were only offered the bar menu and not asked if we wished to go in the restaurant area and when our food arrived the bread had certainly seen fresher days and the chunky chips were more like potato wedges not chips we were not asked if the food was ok at all based on this meal I would not be recommending this establishment although we have had decent meals in the restaurant
Had a splendid pre Festive Lunch drink by the log fire in the lounge. Excellent Christmas meal served by friendly staff in the window alcove.We hadn't been here since 1980, What a change!! Highly recommended.
The Throckmorton Arms is a a very popular pub/restaurant. Pleasant dining rooms and efficient staff. The menu is varied with lunch and daily specials. Food is cooked to a high standard and well presented. Full range of real ales. Would recommend.
Big party, sadly after a good wait everyone was served except me Slip up in kitchen. Some of my party had nearly finished before my meal arrived. Was I hungry! Over an hour and a half for a two course lunch Good job I wasn't due anywhere.
